Pete and I were looking over our farm a few days ago and he noted, "There are really only two seasons: brown and green."
And I noted the irony of my having chosen favorites seasons of the two that aren't really seasons at all - just the bridges between.
Spring and fall. Here, then gone in an instant.
Everything has already exploded here into that deep green that feels like high summer. Though it's not yet truly summer, the soft tenderness of spring is already gone.
When did that happen? It was spring just moments ago.
Sometimes it's easier to notice endings that to truly be in what is, savoring every bite.
I'm doing my best to notice.
Whatever is - today.
The uncomplicated beauty.
The rich blessings.
The things in my life that cost nothing but mean everything.
Because sometimes the small act of presence can change how we see the world.
Beauty abounds.
If only we stop to notice.
What will you notice today?
