Oh, my. Where exactly have I been? I'm really indulging in this sporadic posting and it has shifted my rhythm enough that now I am struggling to find time to connect with you all each week. Sorry for the quiet over here! I have been thinking about you so much.
And what a busy time we've entered! Handcrafting holiday gifts. Running a business during its busiest season. Homeschooling. Running a house. Completing and preparing to ship dozens of holiday orders of silks and dolls. (Aren't they sweet?)
Yes, today I am getting centered, making a list, and finding gratitude for my new-found rhythm and a bit of order in the chaos that is December.
Today I'm finding gratitude and appreciation for all that is good.
I am loving the rhythm that having a new puppy has brought to our family. Daily walks and countless trips outside are keeping me grounded in a way I didn't expect. I am deeply appreciative of the life the puppy has brought back to our old dog Jasper, and their endless hours of play. (And Jasper, I am deeply appreciative that you have been puppy-sitting a bit each day. That has been a life-saver for me.)
I am marveling a the bigness of my children and the brightness of their relationship. They are, as they put it, best friends. (Not always, but often enough for me to focus on it.)
And then there are the little comforts. Today I am thankful for Pete fixing our espresso machine. I know. It's a luxury. But it makes that transition from sleep to wake so lovely. And a second-hand machine means frequent surprising jets of steam from this machine in places it isn't suppose to steam. And frequent mornings of tea, not coffee. I am so thankful for a partner who is a fixer. This I never take for granted.
I am humbled and honored to have been asked to contribute to the Beauty that Moves Whole Food Kitchen e-course. Coming in 2012 I'll be adding my perspective on what healthy, whole foods have meant in our home. Heather's blog is beautiful and inspiring and I'm thrilled to be joining her, along with a few other inspiring blogger mamas.
And today I am thinking ahead to a weekend, together as family, making, doing, cleaning, and decorating for the coming celebrations. Yes. That is just what I need.
P.S. I'll be hosting a giveaway this weekend, so do check back!
