A three-and-a-half-year-old makes a fine teacher. Really. They know so much more than we do. They still know all the good stuff that we forgot along the way. Here is what Lupine quietly shared with me yesterday through her everyday bliss. (This lesson was squeezed in between finding a new favorite color (orange), a trip to the park, a tutu-clad kid parade (thanks, Jen), and a couple of peanut butter cookies.)
Whatever you do each and every day, be sure to ask yourself: Does it make me smile?
If so, then do it. And keep doing it. Until you find something else that makes you smile even more. Contagious laughter is a sure sign that you're on the right track. If it doesn't make you smile then kick and scream against it until something more fun shows up.
Here's wishing you the opportunity to shake off your chains (be them work, worry, responsibility, obligation, sadness...) and laugh and smile like you're three again. It might just change everything.
Love,
Rachel
