My other river.

We have lived in land of the Kickapoo River for the past three years. Somehow, with a baby on my back and a business to launch I forgot to get to know this river, I forgot to fall in love.

Until last week.

We spend a hot summer day with friends along the Kickapoo River and my kids and I fell deeply in love. It was peaceful, silent and beautiful. As is the landscape here in the Driftless Region (non-glaciated), the ground is strewn with crystal-studded rocks. Such magic!

We left with our hearts full, our bodies cooled, and our spirits at peace. Here's to many warm summer adventures, and to new love of the land.
