We have a new tradition that I am awfully fond of: Mystery Wednesday.
It works something like this: Each Wednesday we wake up, have breakfast, and get ready for our day. The kids are instructed as to what to wear and what to bring, but they don't know where we are going. We set off by bike, foot, or car and as we travel they piece together clues to figure out where we are going and why.
Today's mystery led us to a state park that we haven't visited before.
A picnic, a hike, a bit of stream-side play and we were all refreshed and feeling deeply at peace. In the car on our way home Sage said, "I feel so relaxed. I don't even feel like talking."
And that little statement says a lot.
